I was going through my various points of memory and thinking about how I am impacted by various concerns and periods of life. Like a large sculpture or big bubble letters coming out of the darkness the word DISCOURAGEMENT glowed in the recesses of my mind. I relate discouragement or its forms to the thoughts concerning pain and sacrifice. Not a sacrifice of reward, but a sacrifice of hurt, wounding, or scarring. A memory that marks a moment. Taking on a form of physical, mental or emotional formation that remains like a Greek marble statue or Corinthian column.

Lust

Lust of anything is something that creates division or dissociation from a real connection with God. Do we lust after the fruits of the Spirit? So often the thought that we could remain focused on the goodness of God is lost on a generation that desires more and more evil ways that thinking. I struggle myself with thoughts of evil and also hear in my sessions with others their struggle to overcome or their complacency to remain in bondage. I hope this is a good word or challenge to not remain. Press on.
